In the Summertime… : Boston Family Photographer

These photos sure are a contrast from the cold, blustery morning outside my window! I know I should be more on top of my blogging, but it is a nice change to view images of summer and this family session at Lars Anderson Park is no exception!

Of course, its also good to move into the shade for a family photo without the sunglasses!These kids are so cute! What an awesome big brother!After enduring lots of family pictures in the mid-day heat, the kiddos got rewarded with a visit to the playground. I think the action photos of the kids at play will be some of the most cherished images! This was her very first time down the slide!! Hmm.. do you think she liked it?? lol! Maybe just a little..Those wispy baby curls are to die for!Sometimes I have to play too in order to get these shots, but hey it’s all in a day’s work, right?

Seven months old! : Massachusetts Baby Photographer

Its a lot of fun capturing all of the changes throughout baby’s first year. Around six or seven months most babies have begun to sit up, so this is a great milestone to capture. Baby L is so sweet and definitely a ham in front of the camera! I think she looks like a rock star in the one where she is holding a toy microphone!

Of course everyone who has more than one child knows what a challenge it can be to photograph the children together – especially when they are both young in age! I think we got some sweet photos of R and L snuggling together in the glider chair!

Having photos taken in your own home is a great way to document your child’s development. As your child changes, so do their belongings. Including special details like toys and their room decor will help you remember this fleeting moment in their lives. I love these images of R playing with Thomas the Tank!

I love the photos of the family together. Unfortunately dad couldn’t be here on this day, but these are some very special pictures of mom with her kids. So often I hear from moms that there are no pictures with them in it, because they’re always the one taking the photos.

Family Reunion : Massachusets Family Photographer

Its a wonderful idea to hire a photographer when you have family visiting from all different parts of the country! It’s not often that everyone is together, so capturing those moments is so important!

This beautiful day took place back in the beginning of the summer, and I remember the temperature was so hot, I just wanted to dive into the backyard pool!

I love being able to take pictures of multiple generations of family. The images of baby L with his great grandfather are some of my favorites!

Terra and Derek : Married : Coachmen’s Lodge

Fall in New England is definitely my favorite time of year for weddings. I love the rich colors and cool temperatures! Terra and Derek’s wedding couldn’t have been on a more beautiful October day. The sun was shining and the temperature was absolutely perfect. I arrived to take some photos of the girls getting ready at Derek’s mother’s house. I just love the details that Terra chose – the flower in her hair, her dreamy dress, her purple Badgley Mischka shoes.

It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the Coachmen’s Lodge in Bellingham, MA.

After the group formals, I pulled Terra and Derek over to the side to get some photos of them alone. The light was so beautiful!Next, I snuck inside to get some detail shots before everyone headed in for the reception.

The couple made their entrance into the reception and went right into their first dance, followed by some touching speeches from the best man and maid of honor (and a case of the giggles).During the meal, the bride and groom cut the cake. No cake in the face here, just sweetness.Next came parent dances. Terra danced with her father and stepfather, and Derek danced with his mother.These kids sure know how to have a good time!So do the big kids..

Heather and Shawn : Wedding : Saphire Estate

I’m so excited about this post, its beyond words! For about 5 years now, Reiley Photography has been known as “Photography for children. Fun for everyone.”, and although that’s not changing, I do photograph other things from time to time, including weddings. In fact, over the past couple years, I’ve been second shooting dozens of weddings with some of my amazing photographer friends. This year, I’ve got a couple weddings of my own lined up, and I’m so excited to finally be able to share some of these images with you!

Heather and Shawn had a perfect day for an autumn wedding. The weather was warm, there was no rain, and there was just enough cloud coverage to make for fabulous photographs.

I started out the day at Heather’s parents house for some ‘getting ready’ details.

Next we headed over to Borderland State Park for the first look.

The ceremony and reception were held at Saphire Estate in Sharon, MA. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for an outdoor wedding!

Heather and Shawn, thanks so much for letting me be a part of your day! It was a fabulous wedding and I wish you both the best!

Let Summer Begin! | Boston Family Photographer

These boys are just so much fun! I’ve photographed them a few times over the past year, and every time it just feels like playtime, not work! These photographs were taken Memorial Day weekend in Boston Common, where there was a beautiful tribute to the soldiers who had lost their lives in line of duty. It was so powerful and moving to see all of the flags across the lawn, knowing that each flag stood for a single soldier.

Its hard to believe how fast the first year goes by! That’s why its so important to capture all the yummy goodness before those babies aren’t babies anymore! I love capturing baby photos right in their own home so I can include details of the nursery and toys, even pets – things that are sure to change in the coming years as well! Happy Birthday J!!

A Growing Family | Massachusetts Family Photographer

I simply love when I get to watch the children I have photographed as newborns grow up to become big brothers and sisters. It is so cute to watch how protective they are of their little siblings, and to see what big helpers they are to mom and dad! The pictures of big brother D holding his new baby sister E are just so sweet! It melts my heart!!

Just ONE year | Rhode Island Baby Photographer

As a photographer, I am so fortunate to have a job where all of my clients are so special to me. I love being able to witness how fast children grow and change, and to document these memories for their families. It is truly an honor and a privilege!

There are some clients, though, who will always hold an extra special place in my heart. As many of you know, I belong to an organization called Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. It’s a non-profit organization made up of photographers who volunteer their time and services to provide professional photography to a family experiencing stillbirth or loss of an infant, at no cost whatsoever to the family. It is a gift that helps the family to honor and cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives. It is a charity that is particularly dear to me, as I experienced the unexpected loss of my own son in 2005.

I identify with the heartache that is felt by the grieving families, and it is my hope to connect with them and let them know they are not alone in their sorrow. I have been blessed to hear back from a few of these families with the joyous news of the birth of another child. It is so wonderful to meet these children, and to photograph the pure love and joy that is felt by their parents. I know nothing will ever fill the place in their heart for their angel, but it fulfills me to be a part of these moments of happiness..

Brothers | Massachusets Family Photographer

I had so much fun photographing these boys yesterday! Its hard to believe how big they are both getting. Big brother N was quite a ham and really enjoyed being in front of the camera, his baby brother not quite as much, lol! After a little snack though, baby B felt much better and we got lots of great smiles! I just love some of the expressions he makes!
